Cooking Suggestions


1. Remove steak from freezer
1. Remove vacuum packaging
3. Place on preheated cooking surface
4. Sear 2-3 minutes then turn and sear 2-3 minutes on the other side
5. Reduce heat, cook as desired, enjoy!
 
Q.
Do I need to thaw these steaks before cooking?
A:   No, Midwest Made steaks are made to go from the freezer right onto the grill or other cooking surface. You are able to save time by cooking directly from frozen, and you end up with a jucier steak to boot!
Q. What do I do if I want to season them?
A:   If you like a seasoned steak, a dry rub may be used prior to grilling. To apply a dry rub remove the steaks from the vacuum sealed packaging and allow them to sit at room temperature just until the surface of the steak becomes slightly soft and moist to the touch. When the surface of the steak is slightly moist apply your dry rub and then cook as normal.
Q. The bacon on the bacon wrapped fillets gets too crispy, how do I prevent it from overcooking?
A:   To cook a perfect bacon wrapped fillet, allow it to sit at room temperature for 30 to 45 minutes, until the bacon starts to thaw slightly. Place on your preheated cooking surface and sear the surface of the steak for 2-3 minutes then flip and sear the other side for 2-3 minutes. Reduce heat and cook slowly until your steak reaches your desired doneness. Reducing the heat will keep the bacon from becoming overcooked and crispy.
Q. Can the chicken breasts be cooked from frozen the same as the steaks?
A:   Yes, our chicken breasts can be cooked directly from the freezer as well. You can remove your meal from the freezer and be enjoying it 20 minutes later, what a time saver!
Q. I didn’t think you can cook seafood without thawing it first, is yours different?
A:   Our seafood should be thawed prior to cooking to ensure proper results. We suggest removing the fillet from the freezer and placing it in a bowl of cool water to thaw, it doesn’t take long. Remove the vacuum sealed packaging after your fillet is thawed and prepare with your favorite recipe.
